Younger Children and Early Elementary
Day 10
READ: The forgiving Prince: Joseph and his brother, from Genesis 37-46, p.76-83.
ACTIVITY: For the younger set – Make coats of many colors out of a brown paper shopping bag. Cut down the middle of a wide side. Turn the bag inside out. Cut a neck hole out of the bottom of the bag and arm holes out of the sides. Color the bag with bright colors.
For the older kids – Talk about those you need to forgive for a hurt they have caused you. It might be a family member or school friend. Pray and ask God to give you a forgiving heart. Look up on the computer how to sign “I forgive you” in sign language. A nice video dictionary site: www.aslpro.com, then click on video dictionaries.
ORNAMENT IDEAS: Colorful fabric for a coat of many colors; draw a picture of a coat and color, draw the sign for forgive in sign language.
Older Elementary
Day 10
READ: p. 89-111, “Big Dreams”, “Dreamer for Sale”, “Management Crisis”, “Jailhouse Shock”, “Pharaoh’s Man’, “Bringing Benjamin”, “Family Reunion”, & “The End of an Era”.
ACTIVITY: Talk about those you need to forgive for a hurt they have caused you. It might be a family member or school friend. Pray and ask God to give you a forgiving heart. Write about this in your journal.
ORNAMENT: Picture of a coat or many colors. This ornament reminds us that we should ask God to help us forgive, just as Joseph did.
