Younger Children and Early Elementary
Day 12
READ: God makes a way: Moses and the Red Sea, from Exodus 14-15, p.92-99.
ACTIVITY: Retell the story using toys. Lego, playmobil, princess figures, army men, etc., or make figures out of clay/play dough, clothes pins. Use two blue colored pieces of paper, fabric, or towels to make the Sea. Roll back the sea and let the people walk through. Make a pillar of fire and a pillar of cloud – fire to lead and cloud to shield. (You might want to use cotton balls and red construction paper.)
Talk about how God made a way for them to pass through the waters and God still makes a way for us. Where do we need God to make a way in our family?
ORNAMENT IDEAS: Use the pillar of cloud and fire as the ornaments.
This ornament reminds us of God’s power to lead and protect us.
