Younger Children and Early Elementary
Day 27
ACTIVITY: Talk about your family’s emergency plan. If you don’t have one, make one as part of the activity. How do you exit the house, and where do you meet in an emergency? Jesus spent time with God to go over their emergency rescue plan for the world. Let’s read about it.
READ: Let’s God!: Jesus is tempted in the desert and chooses his helper, from Matthew 4, Mark 1, Luke 4-6, p.208-213.
ORNAMENT IDEAS: Make a list with all the names of Jesus’ twelve helpers on it. You might want to trace a hand, cut it out and write the names on the hand.
This ornament reminds us that God chooses to use people to help with his rescue plan.
Older Elementary
Day 27
READ: p.548-551, “Tempted in the Desert”
ACTIVITY: Talk about your family’s emergency plan. If you don’t have one, make one. How do you exit the house, and where do you meet in an emergency? Jesus spent time with God to go over their emergency rescue plan for the world. We need to meet with God too to remember God’s rescue plan and to help be a part of it. Jesus chose 12 helpers after he was tempted. Set time to meet with God and write in your journal, listen to God to see how God wants to use you.
