Young Children and Older Elementary
Day 6
READ: A giant staircase to heaven: the tower of Babel, from Genesis 11, p. 48-55. (You may need to tell the story for younger kids using the pictures.)
ACTIVITY: for the younger set – build a tower out of blocks. Ask: can we build a tower up to God? No, God reaches down to us to bring us to heaven.
For Early Elementary – use blocks or Legos to build a tall tower, or use other building material. Ask: If we had enough material, could we build a tower that would reach heaven? How do we get to heaven? God reaches down to us from heaven to rescue us.
Older Kids – research how to say “Hello” or “I Love You” in as many languages as possible. Practice saying the words. How would it be if all your friends spoke different languages? Would you stay friends? How could you communicate? How does God talk with you?
ORNAMENT IDEAS: Lego tower or paper with different languages written on it.
