Night Travel

December 7th

If you are following a star that gives light…when do you travel?  We are not used to being up all night and sleeping in the day, but that is what they would have to do to follow a star.  Did you ever think of that? What do you think it is like to be up all night?  What might be different than the day?  What might be the same?  In December, when we get our hearts ready for Christmas, the nights are longer and the days are shorter.  When the night starts to come early, think of the wisemen and their night journey.  Look at the stars and remember their trip.

When God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, he led them with a cloud during the day, and fire by night.  READ  Psalm 78:14

Move the wiseman a bit closer to the nativity.

PRAY:  Dear God, may we look to the night sky and remember to follow you this Advent.  Amen.
