Day 24
Listen to: “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly”
Two words of this song stand out to me: Swift and True. In verse one the angels are described as “swift are winging” – flying fast! And in verse two the news of the birth of Jesus is True. It makes me think…when we know for a fact that something good is true, we move quickly. We, at least I do, drag my feet if I am not sure of something. I am not sure I want to spend my energy on something that may not be a sure thing.
Today remember, the good news about Jesus and salvation is true. Move quickly about your day and to the word of God. Read it and rejoice.
Activity for Kids:
Hide a piece of candy or treat/gift. Tell your kids there might be one in one place and for sure one in another. Then let them go. Where did they go? To the sure thing? How fast? Talk about how Jesus’ salvation is a sure thing.
Move the angel to the next note.
1. Infant holy, Infant lowly, for His bed a cattle stall; Oxen lowing, little knowing, Christ the Babe is Lord of all. Swift are winging Angels singing, Noels ringing, Tidings bringing: Christ the Babe is Lord of all.
2. Flocks were sleeping, Shepherds keeping vigil till the morning new Saw the glory, heard the story, tidings of a gospel true. Thus rejoicing, free from sorrow, praises voicing, greet the morrow: Christ the Babe was born for you.
